Understand how Management can be applied to address social, environmental, and economic challenges. This webinar will explore the balance between analytical frameworks and real-world impact, alongside opportunities to engage with sustainability, policy, and purpose-driven projects.
The sessions will give you an opportunity to learn more about the programme, ask live questions, and hear directly from the people who teach and study on the course, including the Programme Director, Careers, current students, and the Student Recruitment Team.
Programme
Marketing has become one of the most dynamic areas of modern business. Organisations now rely on data, technology, creativity and behavioural insight to understand customers, develop products, build brands and make strategic decisions. The UCL BSc Marketing, delivered at the UCL School of Management, is designed to prepare you for this rapidly evolving landscape.
This degree combines the creative and analytical sides of marketing. Alongside developing expertise in branding, communication and consumer behaviour, you will learn how organisations use data, experimentation, programming, analytics and artificial intelligence (AI) to solve business problems and make evidence-based decisions.
The programme has been designed to reflect the realities of contemporary marketing practice. Employers increasingly seek graduates who can work confidently across disciplines, combining commercial awareness with quantitative skills, creativity with critical thinking, and technological understanding with sound professional judgement.
Throughout the degree, you will explore how marketing influences organisations and society. You will examine topics such as digital transformation, AI-enabled decision-making, sustainability, consumer trust, ethical business practice and responsible communication. Rather than studying these themes in isolation, you will learn how they shape the decisions organisations make every day.
Applied learning is embedded throughout the programme. You will work on case studies, presentations, group projects and analytical exercises that mirror real business challenges. In your final year, you will complete a substantial business project, collaborating with an external organisation to address a live marketing problem and develop evidence-based recommendations.
The programme is taught by academics and industry practitioners whose expertise spans digital marketing, business analytics, consumer behaviour, entrepreneurship and business strategy. Their research and industry engagement help ensure your learning reflects both academic advances and emerging industry practice.
By the time you graduate, you will have developed the analytical, technological, creative, and communication skills needed to succeed in a wide range of marketing, business and technology-focused careers.

Programme Structure
The three-year UCL BSc Marketing programme combines foundational business knowledge with specialist marketing expertise, quantitative methods and practical application. As the programme progresses, you will build increasingly sophisticated analytical, strategic and professional capabilities.
Year 1
In Year 1, you will build a strong foundation in marketing and business through eight core modules. Introduction to Marketing and Consumer Behaviour explore how organisations understand audiences, develop brands, and create value, while Strategic Management examines how businesses make decisions and compete in dynamic markets.
Alongside this, you will develop core business knowledge through modules in Business Economics, Financial Insights for Managers, and Operations and Supply Chain Management, gaining an understanding of how organisations operate and create sustainable growth.
The year also places a strong emphasis on quantitative and professional skills. Quantitative Methods 1: Business Statistics introduces statistical analysis and data-driven decision-making, while Business Communication develops the written, verbal, and collaborative skills needed to communicate effectively in professional environments.
Year 2
In Year 2, you will build on your foundations in marketing and business by developing more advanced analytical, digital and strategic skills. The focus shifts towards applying marketing theory in practical contexts, working with data, understanding emerging technologies, and exploring how organisations create value through products, brands and customer relationships.
The seven compulsory modules include Quantitative Methods 2: Programming for Analytics, which introduces Python and its applications in marketing data analysis, and Marketing Research, where you will learn how to design studies, collect and analyse data, and generate insights for decision-making. Marketing Analytics develops your ability to work with predictive models, customer analytics, experimentation and machine learning techniques, while Digital and Social Media Marketing examines how organisations use online platforms and digital technologies to engage audiences and evaluate performance.
You will also study Product Development and Entrepreneurship, exploring innovation, design thinking, and the process of bringing new products to market. Product and Brand Management focuses on brand strategy, positioning and product portfolios, while Marketing and Society examines issues including sustainability, digital privacy, consumer protection, diversity, and responsible marketing practice.
Alongside the compulsory modules, you will choose one elective. Managing Creative Content Development explores storytelling, creative strategy, and the management of content production, while Market Intelligence focuses on competitor analysis, customer insights, trend forecasting, and the use of AI-enabled tools to support strategic decision-making.
Together, these modules provide a blend of quantitative, technological and creative skills, reflecting the evolving nature of marketing in a data-rich and digitally connected world.
Final year
In the final year, you will deepen your expertise in advanced marketing practice while developing the strategic, leadership and analytical capabilities needed for professional roles. The curriculum focuses on applying sophisticated tools and frameworks to complex business challenges, with a strong emphasis on real-world problem-solving.
Five compulsory modules include Optimisation and AI for Business, which explores AI, machine learning, and optimisation techniques, and their applications in areas such as product design, pricing, promotion, and customer insight. In Advertising and Marketing Communication, you will examine integrated communication strategies, campaign effectiveness, media planning, and the use of emerging technologies in marketing. Leading High-Performing Teams develops your understanding of leadership, collaboration, and organisational behaviour, while Data Visualisation and Strategic Communication focuses on presenting complex information clearly and persuasively to different audiences through data storytelling, dashboards, and visual communication techniques.
A key feature of the final year is the Business Project module, where you will work as part of a consulting team with an external organisation to address a significant marketing challenge. Drawing on knowledge gained throughout the degree, you will analyse data, develop evidence-based recommendations, and gain experience of working on a live business problem under academic supervision.
Alongside the compulsory modules, you will choose two electives that allow you to tailor the programme to your interests. Social Impact and Assessment explores how organisations evaluate and communicate the social and environmental impact of their activities. Pricing Strategy examines how businesses set and optimise prices in traditional and digital markets, including the role of data, algorithms, and consumer psychology. International Marketing focuses on marketing across borders, covering topics such as global branding, market entry strategies, and cultural differences. Decision and Risk Analysis develops your ability to make informed decisions under uncertainty using analytical frameworks, modelling techniques, and risk assessment tools.
Together, these modules enable you to integrate strategic thinking, advanced analytics and practical marketing expertise, preparing you for graduate roles in a rapidly evolving global business environment.
