Core Modules

The programme’s core modules prepare you to succeed in multifaceted, technology-intensive ecosystems by developing subject-specific knowledge; intellectual, academic and research capabilities; and practical and transferrable skills.

The Data Analytics Advantage

Managers and leaders need to make business decisions grounded in data, but few know which kinds of data should be collected, utilised and analysed, or how that data can be used to best support sound, qualified decision-making. In this module, you will develop your understanding of data analytics and application use in practical decision-making.

Critical Leadership Decisions

What are the duties or responsibilities of a leader operating today for future generations? This module provides you with the tools to consider the social and ethical considerations relevant to business decisions in a fast-changing environment. You will be challenged to examine the underlying assumptions that drive most business decisions and address controversial ethical quandaries, like the role of automation and the implications of emerging technologies.

Business Strategy

This module details the basics of strategy, allowing you to analyse the implications of business actions within a broader market context. The module will explore questions including: How in times of turbulent change does leadership and strategy from the top influence results? How can businesses balance efficiency with market agility?

Marketing Science and Strategy

Marketing is crucial in translating an organisation’s mission and vision — but in an increasingly crowded global landscape, connecting with customers is harder than ever. How can business leaders develop authentic, effective messaging that resonates with target audiences? This module will help you analyse the task of marketing within organisations and help you apply marketing concepts to a range of real-world situations.

Leading Organisations

Helps you improve your leadership and management skills, particularly those that are being faced in fast-moving business environments. You will not only be introduced to critical aspects of the people side of leading an organisation but will also gain self-knowledge through examining your own personal style, strengths and weaknesses in a range of leadership domains.

Business Economics

You will develop an understanding of the economic principles that govern business operations. This module will explore several important questions: How do our current theories fare if we challenge the fundamental end goal of maximising shareholder value? What might the economic imperatives be now and for the future if we challenge this assumption?

Operations Management

You will explore the resources and functions that allow an organisation to meet the needs of its customers. Several key questions shape module content: What are the critical trade-offs in balancing agility and standardisation in developing delivery systems? How do we synergise across an international organisation, and how do performance measures balance risk in a dynamic global market?

Accounting and Finance for Managers

This module will provide you with a foundation in accounting and finance principles, enabling you to utilise current accounting information that organisations need to operate, develop and grow. You will be asked to consider questions such as: How do financial models deal with highly volatile markets or rapid rates of innovation in a market? How might accounting be disrupted by intelligent business systems?
