Who is this course designed for?
- Those who have worked within project management for up to two years
- Aspiring project managers who have recently taken on project management responsibilities
- Applicants who typically have some pre-existing project management knowledge (this is not essential).
What is APMP?
APMP (IPMA Level D) is an internationally recognised, knowledge-based qualification, enabling participation in a wide range of projects from individual assignments through to large capital projects.
The course is based on the Association for Project Management’s Body of Knowledge (APM BoK) and offers an effective foundation in project management suitable for projects in any industry or the public sector.
APMP assesses your breadth of knowledge in all areas of project management, from strategic and commercial implications, to the technical, organisational, and people management skills required to participate effectively within a project team.
Our intensive APMP course is run over five days (Monday to Friday, 9am-5pm), plus a three-hour examination taken ten days later.
The examination is preceded by an optional post-revision three-hour Examination Preparation Session. Complimentary prior learning is recognised for PRINCE2® Registered Practitioners through a reduced (two-hour) APMP exam.

Examination Preparation Session
A three-hour APMP Examination Preparation Session runs in the morning before the APMP examination in the afternoon. This post-revision session is tutor-led and designed for those who have already completed our APMP course and their revision for the exam. Advice will be provided on APM exam technique and candidates will be given the opportunity to test their knowledge with practice questions under exam conditions, receiving individual feedback and guidance.
The cost of the three-hour APMP Examination Preparation Session is £275 (refreshments and sandwich lunch included).

APMP is aimed at professionals with up to two years’ project management experience. There are no formal entry requirements.
£1,795, inclusive of the examination, all tuition, the course manual, refreshments during teaching sessions and lunch Monday to Friday. A reduced rate of £1,595 is available for multiple bookings. Reduced fees are also available for UCL alumni and staff.

Is the Project Management course a professional course?
Yes. The course has been accredited by the Association for Project Management (APM) and follows their published APMP syllabus. Delegates who take the examination at the end of the course are eligible for free registration when applying for membership of the Association.
What is the examination?
The APMP qualification is a three-hour written essay-based paper. The examination is designed to test the candidate’s knowledge of project management. The candidate has the choice of ten questions from sixteen.
Must the examination be sat straight after the end of the course?
No, there is the option to defer the exam to a later date.
What happens if I fail?
You are allowed to resit the examination; a resit fee will be charged.
What is the cost of the course?
£1,795 (inclusive of exam). If two or more participants from one company attend any one course the cost is £1,595. Reduced fees are also available for UCL alumni and staff. Please note that there is no VAT payment in addition to the prices quoted as UCL is VAT exempt.
What is included in the cost?
All tuition, the course manual, refreshments during teaching sessions, lunches Monday to Friday and the examination fee.
What is not included in the cost?
Overnight accommodation charges are not included. Due to the highly intensive nature of the course, delegates may wish to consider staying in or near central London. A list of hotels with UCL specially negotiated rates can be provided on request.
The cost of the optional post-revision Examination Preparation Session is also not included.
What is the benefit of the optional post-revision Examination Preparation Session?
The opportunity for candidates to test their knowledge with practice questions under exam conditions and to receive individual feedback and guidance. Candidates’ responses to questions have been shown to have improved considerably by the end of the session.
