Research Fellow - Ref:1873075

University College London’s (UCL) School of Management seeks to appoint a post-doctoral Research Fellow in the UCL School of Management. This post is research-only from October 1st 2020 to February 28th 2021.

The post is grant-specific, not an independent post. It is funded by the UK Research Innovation grant awarded to Dr Onesun Steve Yoo and Prof. Bert De Reyck for the programme “Project perfect apple – Using AI and automated analytics to grant supply chain superpowers” [The Sustainable Innovation Fund: round 1 temporary framework, Ref 80093].

The aim is to improve large British manufacturers improve their supplier selection and procurement process to help aid post-COVID economic recovery.

The post holder will work with the Principal Investigator, Dr. Onesun Steve Yoo and industry collaborator SPOT Ltd to develop a categorization system using novel applications of natural language processing and machine learning techniques.

The postholder does not need to have prior experience in the settings, but should be interested in conducting research in analytics and supply chain optimization.

Duration of this post is until 28th February 2021 in the first instance.

Key Requirements - A PhD or close to PhD completion that relates to fields in computer science, data analytics with advanced knowledge and experience in quantitative research methods and analysis.

Appointment at Grade 7 is dependent upon having been awarded a PhD; if this is not the case, initial appointment will be at research assistant Grade 6B (salary £31,542 - £33,257 per annum) with payment at Grade 7 being backdated to the date of final submission of the PhD thesis.
