Lynsie is a Principal Teaching Fellow in Accounting and the Programme Director of the MSc Professional Accountancy, a venture between ACCA (Association of Chartered Certified Accountants) and the University of London. This venture sees the first-ever Masters Programme integrated with a prestigious professional qualification delivered online.
She holds Masters and Undergraduate degrees, specialising within both degrees in Accounting, Financial Management and International Financial Systems. After some time in industry, Lynsie ‘fell’ into teaching and has developed, lectured and organised courses in the areas of management accounting, financial accounting, and business management, at a number of UK HE Institutions over a number of years. She has been and continues to be involved in the design and delivery of executive education and CPD delivery.
As one of the School’s E-Learning Champion’s Lynsie has a keen personal interest in using new learning technologies within accounting education and is extensively involved in the ongoing development and applications of such technologies within the School and feeding-in to UCL as a whole. She is also currently undertaking a Doctorate, focusing on Learning Technologies.
Lynsie has a proven track record of delivering what can be a ‘dry’ subject of accounting/finance in an innovative way, delivering knowledge and understanding with humour and practical experience. She is co-editor/co-author of 5 Custom textbooks and actively engages in international scholarship activities within the fields of Accounting Education, Learning Technologies. In 2018 she won a UCL Education Award. This is in addition to 3 UCL SoM Teaching Awards, voted for by students. he was a key member of the MSc Professional Accountancy team which developed that programme’s innovative and unique business simulation, Icarus, which won Gold Award for best learning simulation at the 2017 UK National Learning Technology Awards.
