UCL School of Management Professor becomes finalist for Best Paper Award

A research paper written by UCL School of Management Associate Professor Ersin Korpeoglu has recently become one of only three finalists in the INFORMS Technology, Innovation Management and Entrepreneurship Section (TIMES) Best Paper Award Competition.

Entitled, “Optimal Award Scheme in Innovation Tournaments”, Ersin’s paper explores innovation tournaments and the role of organisers within them, whilst also examining the conditions under which the winner-takes-all scheme becomes optimal.

The TIMES Best Paper Award aims to recognise the best paper published in either 2016 and 2017 that contributed to broader technology, innovation management and entrepreneurship research. The finalists are chosen by a panel of judges, and the winner will be determined by votes of TIMES members. However, this is not the first time that Ersin’s work has been celebrated in the TIMES Best Paper Awards. In 2018 and 2021, Ersin’s papers were the runner up in the Best Working Paper Award Competition, a competition that recognises outstanding not-yet-published working papers.

The winner of the 2022 Best Paper Award will be announced at the TIMES Business Meeting on October 17th. Good luck to Ersin and his fellow nominees.
