90 MSci Management Science students recently completed Scenario Week 2026, an intensive 5-day design sprint where teams developed implementable solutions to real operational challenges from DHL’s Supply Chain. Led by UCL School of Management Lecturer and Head of Executive Coaching Lorenzo Todorow, the week saw students move from problem framing on Monday to presenting polished prototypes to DHL executives by Friday.
Students chose between two live scenarios: helping DHL’s cross-functional Expert Team make faster warehouse site selection decisions, or supporting Tradeteam drivers in managing complex mixed beverage deliveries. Working in 14 teams, students navigated real constraints including carbon commitments, driver regulations, and existing IT infrastructure.
The week featured a crucial Wednesday validation session with a team of DHL engineers and designers led by Emma Taverner (VP Solutions Design, DHL) and Tim Bolam (VP Project Delivery, DHL), who provided operational feedback that pushed students to refine their concepts. Guest speaker Anna White also delivered a masterclass on visual communication that transformed prototype quality overnight.
All 14 teams delivered feasible prototypes in a timely fashion, with Team 3’s solution impressing DHL so much that implementation discussions for a Q2 2026 pilot are already underway. “Watching students present confidently to VP-level executives on Friday – when they were nervous and uncertain on Monday – was genuinely inspiring,” reflected Lorenzo. Student feedback praised the authentic client engagement and portfolio value, with one commenting: “Perfect course – keep doing what you’re doing.”
