Description

As a part of the Spring into STEM Lecture Series, UCL School of Management’s JP Vergne will be hosting a session on; Decentralization, what it is and is it the future of the web.

We are promised a decentralized future online, particularly thanks to the diffusion of blockchain technologies via cryptocurrencies, NFTs, and DAO, to name a few.

But what is decentralization exactly, and how can we tell how decentralized a given digital platform is? Is Instagram more decentralized than TikTok, or Bitcoin more than Ethereum?

This interactive session will provide an overview of these issues and offer some counter-intuitive answers.
