The purpose of the IT Support Officer role is to deliver prompt customer-focussed 1st and 2nd line IT support to staff, students and honorary contract holders in the UCL School of Management, Department of Science, Technology, Engineering and Public Policy (STEaPP), Department of Computer Science (who provide datacentre services such as file serving and backup) and the Faculty of Engineering School Office. The post holder will provide field, phone and remote based support for computer desktops, mobile devices, audio visual & multimedia equipment, printers, specialist equipment and other peripherals used by academic staff, professional services staff and students.
The post holder will also work closely with the UCL’s central IT services to maintain and resolve issues with managed desktops, printing networks and computer security, and digital signage, developing an enhanced and efficient IT service for a diverse range of users and requirements. The post holder will be expected to possess deep and broad understanding in diagnose hardware and software faults and good communication (written and oral), interpersonal and customer service skills.
