Lynsie is an Associate Professor in Accounting Education. She is the Programme Director of the MSc Professional Accountancy, an online programme with ACCA (Association of Chartered Certified Accountants) and the University of London as stakeholders.
She holds Masters and Undergraduate degrees, specialising within both degrees in Accounting, Financial Management and International Financial Systems. After some time in industry, Lynsie ‘fell’ into teaching and has developed, lectured and organised courses in the areas of management accounting, financial accounting, and business management, at a number of UK HE Institutions over a number of years. She regularly contributes to the design and delivery of executive education and CPD delivery.
Lynsie is the School’s UCL Academic Connected Learning Lead responsible for implementing and managing UCL’s online education initiative arising from the COVID-19 situation. This builds upon her role as one of the School’s e-Learning Champion.Lynsie has a keen personal interest in using new learning technologies within accounting education and is extensively involved in the ongoing development and applications of such technologies within the School and feeding-in to UCL as a whole.
Lynsie has a proven track record of delivering what can be a ‘dry’ subject of accounting/finance in an innovative way, delivering knowledge and understanding with humour and practical experience. She is co-editor/co-author of 5 Custom textbooks and actively engages in international scholarship activities within the fields of Accounting Education, Learning Technologies. In 2018 she won a UCL Education Award. This is in addition to 3 UCL SoM Teaching Awards, voted for by students. he was a key member of the MSc Professional Accountancy team which developed that programme’s innovative and unique business simulation, Icarus, which won Gold Award for best learning simulation at the 2017 UK National Learning Technology Awards.
