
UCL School of Management PhD candidate Deepanshi Bhardwaj has been named as a finalist in the 2025 Production and Operations Management Society (POMS) Product Innovation & Technology Management (PITM) Best Student Paper competition.
Titled “New Technology Adoption and Peer Effects among Service Workers: Evidence from Aadhaar Enabled Payment System”, the paper was co-authored with her PhD supervisor and UCL School of Management Professor Bilal Gokpinar and Ashwini Chhatre from the Indian School of Business.
The research provides detailed empirical evidence of peer effects at the onset of a technological change, using granular transaction level data from the largest digital identity revolution in India (Aadhaar Enabled Payment System).
Deepanshi presented her paper at the 2025 POMS Annual Conference on 09 May in Atlanta, Georgia. She is grateful for the recognition from the community
