This module aims to give you an up to the minute understanding of this innovative finance and technology marketplace in the context of entrepreneurship. Fintech is accelerating change in all areas of our personal and professional financial lives, and the course combines a theoretical understanding of the Fintech ecosystem, with regard to both incumbents and disruptors, with practical exercises, experiences, and interactions, resulting in the creation and presentation of your own Fintech business model and insights from those who have been there before and who are currently leading the way. This involves understanding the key players and stakeholders, history, trends, regulations, business models, disruptive technologies, the sources available to enable and accelerate new entrants, and the process and strategies needed to be successful.
The module aims to equip students with understanding of the principles of strategy, marketing, value proposition development, and regulatory position in fintech entrepreneurship, understanding of the tools available for applying the principles, and experience of using some of the tools.
Upon successful completion of the module, students will have:
- Knowledge of tools available for following the principles
- Experience of using, and reflecting on use of, the tools
