Course overview

The aim of this module is to facilitate the progression of consulting skills by delivering excellent consulting on time. The module consolidates the robust foundation of management knowledge gained from the BSc IMB degree. It develops the research skills acquired from the completion of an extensive independent and academic research project (dissertation). The module applies the development of investigative and analytical skills to an organisation or project issue. This requires an understanding of the contribution of team building to the delivery of consultancy.

The module gives students an appreciation of the importance of managing client relationships, conflicts of interest and the reputation of all stakeholders. It enables students to experience the identification of client issues and the tasks required to address those issues. Additionally students will have to agree the allocation of work amongst team members, in order to resolve the identified issues given the constraints of time, access, resources and information.
