Vungle, an in-app advertising company created by UCL School of Management Alumnus, Zain Jaffer, has announced record global growth, reaching $300m annual revenue run rate (ARR).

The milestone comes after a year of significant global expansion from Zain and his company, and is a record that very few companies in the ad-tech industry have acheieved.

Zain studied MSc Entrepreneurship (former MSc Technology Entrepreneurship) back in 2011 and formed Vungle during his studies here.

The business became an instant hit, forcing Zain to postpone his dissertation while he managed the business’ early growth.

Fast forward 7 years, and his hard work has paid off, with Vungle becoming an ad-tech company with one of the largest revenues in the world.

“At Vungle, it’s our mission to deliver the highest quality consumers for our advertisers, while also delivering a great user experience for the publishers who rely on us to monetize their mobile apps,” said Zain

“Our growth speaks volumes about how the advertising landscape has changed. Companies of all sizes, from established brands and Fortune 500 businesses to independent mobile studios, have begun to adopt in-app video ads as an integral part of their customer acquisition strategies.

“And that’s why Vungle is bullish on performance marketing. It’s proven, it’s defensible and mobile marketers spend more when there’s clear, quantifiable ROI and lifetime value (LTV)—this has and will continue to fuel Vungle’s growth.”
